Bristol City-linked man goes elsewhere as former player joins new EFL club

The latest Bristol City news on Saturday.

Bristol City are busy preparing for the new Championship season.

The Robins kick-start the campaign away at Hull City two weeks today.

They finished 17th in the table last term and will be hoping for a much better showing next time around.

The club has delved into the transfer market to sign Mark Sykes, Kal Naismith, Kane Wilson and Stefan Bajic to bolster their squad.

Here is a look all the latest news coming out of the club today....

Nothing close on the defender front

Bristol City are expected to bring in another defender this summer.

Nigel Pearson’s side conceded 68 hours in 46 games last season.

BristolWorld understands there is ‘nothing close to happening’ on that front at this moment in time though.

Rudoni goes elsewhere

Jack Rudoni, who has been linked with Bristol City in this window, has signed for Huddersfield Town.

He has finally left AFC Wimbledon following their relegation to League Two and has landed himself a Championship move.

The attacking midfielder made 106 appearances for the Dons in all competitions and chipped in with 17 goals.

Former midfielder finds new club

Former Robins man Korey Smith has become the latest player to sign for Derby County.

The midfielder, 31, was released by Swansea City at the end of June and has now found himself a new club on a free transfer.

Smith spent six years with Bristol City from 2014 to 2020 and helped them gain promotion from League One in his first year.

He will be looking to do the same with the Rams now.
