Bristol City injury news: Nigel Pearson on Naismith, Kalas, Wilson and Klose

Bristol City’s resolve is being tested following a spate of injuries and suspensions.

The Robins travel to the Midlands on Saturday to face Birmingham City at St Andrews.

Nigel Pearson’s side are to be without a few of their first-team players, including Joe Williams who is suspended.

Williams was yellow carded in the goalless draw with Coventry City, which was his fifth of the campaign, suspending him for the Saturday.

Alex Scott however returns after serving his one-game ban, having sat out of Tuesday’s game.

But what about those who have been absent through injury?

Kal Naismith

Ever present Naismith was withdrawn in the first-half on Tuesday as a result of a calf injury.

Pearson said: “Kal will be 10 days, something like that. It’s not as serious as we initially thought.”

Timm Klose

Swiss international Timm Klose is available for selection again.

He returned to Switzerland to tend to a personal matter whilst also recovering from a knee issue.

He has not played since the win over Wycombe Wanderers but could play a part Saturday.

Pearson said: “Timm has trained, he’ll probably be in the squad for the weekend which is good news for us.

Timm is experienced and hopefully he’ll play some part.

Tomas Kalas

Kalas has not made an appearance for City this season having undergone an operation at the end of last season.

He has not played since March and has had a longer absence than initially thought.

Pearson said: “He should be training within 10 days which is really good news for us and him too. His levels of general fitness are very good too. He’s even smiling these days which is quite disconcerting.

Kane Wilson

Wilson was not included in the match-day squad against Coventry.

He is undergoing a scan for a knee injury to assess the situation.

Pearson said: “He’s got a knee injury that he will have scanned. We’ll assess how that is, hopefully it won’t be too long. It’s probably something grumbled and has been there for a while a bit like Timm.
