Champions League runners-up Inter Milan are the latest club exploring a move for Bristol City star Alex Scott, reports in Italy revealed on Friday.

Italian football website Tuttomercatoweb claims Inter are considering a move for a fee around €18m but the club are yet to receive any formal offers for the player.

Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and Wolves are among the Premier League clubs showing a strong interest in the 19-year-old who still has two years remaining on his deal at Ashton Gate.

The Robins put a £25m price tag on the player during the January transfer window, which put Wolves off at the time as Scott remained in Bristol until the end of the Championship season.

Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol in April, club owner Steve Lansdown revealed a new contract had been offered to Scott and that if more clubs show an interest in the player, their £25m asking price could naturally increase.

He said in April: “It’s there (the contract offer). It’s not been taken away. It’s about being sensible about things. I suspect Alex and his agent will wait and see what happens in the summer, to see what comes along as we would like to do in a sense because why start paying someone earlier, it’s not going to affect his value at this stage.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if people came in for him but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t either. Alex hasn’t said anything as far as I’m aware to say that he wants to go or he’s looking to go.

“I think he’s developing his career, he has opportunities with England Under-20 too and probably going forward with England Under-21s. So, he’s playing football on a regular basis and the chances are he could go to a Premier League club and be sent out on loan to a Championship club so I’d rather he stay here with us and give us that quality and get us up.”

He added: “We’ve quoted £25m in the past, I really don’t know where it goes. It’s supply and demand, isn’t it? If there are lots of clubs interested in him, then the value goes up. If it doesn’t then it’s what we can achieve. At the end of the day, we’re not going to sell him on the cheap, he’s contracted for another couple of years but I’d like it to be longer to keep that momentum going.”

During the season manager Nigel Pearson said it would require “one hell of a bid” to sign Scott.
