Bristol City hope to enter the international break with some bragging rights as they host Cardiff City in the Severnside Derby on Sunday, October 6.
The Robins played to a goalless draw with Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday, and have one less day to rest than this weekend's opponents. Cardiff claimed their first victory of the season, defeating Millwall 1-0 courtesy of a first-half Perry Ng goal, but they remain bottom on goal difference.

Hide AdLast season, Cardiff claimed a league double over City. A 2-0 win in South Wales saw Nigel Pearson's reign come to an end, and then in March, Perry Ng scored with a header in the second-half in Liam Manning's first taste of the fixture.
Ayman Benarous is a long-term absentee and hasn't played a competitive game for the first-team in two months. Centre-back duo Rob Atkinson and Rob Dickie, are both out but should return after the international break or shortly after.
Atkinson hasn't made a competitive appearance for the first-team since February 2023, when he suffered an ACL injury. He did make an appearance for the under-21s in the week however. Dickie on the other hand had a serious tear of the muscle, and should be out until around November.
Sam Bell suffered a hamstring injury against Coventry City in the Carabao Cup in the middle of August. He’s another player that Manning is unable to call upon.

Former Manchester United defender Will Fish had to come off injured in the first-half against Hull City last weekend. He missed the game against Millwall with a hamstring issue and is doubtful.
Manolis Siopis has missed the last two games but is in contention to return. He had started all of Cardiff’s league games from the end of March onwards.
Isaak Davies, Kion Etete, and Ryotaro Tsunoda are long-term absentees. A hamstring tear has put Davies on the sidelines for four months, whilst Etete is out for three.

Norwegian centre-back Jasper Daland looks set to return. He suffered an ankle injury at the end of August, and could make an appearance having missed the lack block of fixtures.
Former Robins winger Callum O’Dowda was another absentee in the Welsh side’s 1-0 win against Millwall. He like Siopis and Daland have trained with caretaker boss Omer Riza faced with a selection headache.
"Jesper [Daland] trained today, so it was nice to see him back," Riza said “to WalesOnline.

Wales captain Aaron Ramsey is out for at least two months. He sustained an injury whilst on international duty with Wales, and there will need to be a scan a few days down the line to assess the full damage of his injury.
