Bristol City wing-back Kane Wilson is set for a spell on the sidelines after undergoing an operation.
Wilson joined on a free transfer from League Two champions Forest Green Rovers in the summer, but has yet to cement himself as a first-team starter in the team.

Mark Sykes, also signed in the summer, but from Oxford United in League One, has been preferred over him since a strong performance against AFC Bournemouth in pre-season.
When Sykes was suspended, 19-year-old midfielder Alex Scott was given the go-ahead of Wilson, despite it being his more natural position after individual success at FGR last season.
Wilson has come on as a substitute in league matches, whilst his two starts have come in the Carabao Cup. He has been missing for the last two matches however and it has now been revealed that he has required surgery for an injury he sustained.

He jarred his knee in a cameo appearance against Queens Park Rangers earlier this month, which saw him miss out against Coventry City and Birmingham City.
As for a possible replacement, George Tanner has been named on the bench in his absence and on other occasions, he has been waiting for a starting opportunity.
Tanner was given a 45-minute cameo against Birmingham last week after being an unused substitute on 11 occasions in the league, with his only other appearances being in the Carabao Cup.
Kal Naismith and Matty James are already out for the next two matches after Nigel Pearson provided an update ahead of Wednesday night’s Championship clash with Preston North End.
