Bristol City predicted XI vs Birmingham: Key attacking switch likely for Championship clash - gallery

The Robins travel to St Andrew's on Friday night

Bristol City will be hungry to record a fourth successive victory when they travel to face EFL Championship strugglers Birmingham City on Friday night.

The Robins are in excellent form going into the match at St Andrew's, having won their last three matches while scoring nine goals in the process.

Their 4-1 rout of Watford last time out will provide plenty of confidence going into the match, and the Robins could move into the play-off spots with a victory.

Regarding team news, it will be a similar matchday squad to the one that triumphed against the Hornets.

Liam Manning said at his pre-Blues press conference that Ross McCrorie and Andy King are in full training but won’t be available for selection until the new year. Also, defender Kal Naismith has suffered a further setback during his recovery from a hamstring problem.

Birmingham go into the match in a less positive run of form. Wayne Rooney’s side have won just once in their last seven matches and have lost their last two home fixtures.

The Blues sit in 19th place in the table and will be desperate to turn their fortunes around against Manning’s side.

This fixture ended in a 3-0 win for Birmingham last season, and when the two locked horns at Ashton Gate in August, the Blues again prevailed as 2-0 victors as Rob Dickie was sent off for the Robins.

Here’s how I think the visitors will set up…
