Rob Dickie insists there is no extra desire for revenge against Birmingham City after his dismissal against the Blues earlier this season, but sent a warning that the Robins want to do damage at St Andrew's.

Dickie was sent off when the two sides met at Ashton Gate in August for two unfortunate yellow card offences, as Birmingham eventually ran out 2-0 winners.

Since then, the Blues' form has dipped following the arrival of Wayne Rooney as manager, while the Robins are enjoying a purple patch after three consecutive victories.

Dickie insisted that what happened against Birmingham last time out is not on his mind going into the fixture on Friday night.

"Not really to be honest with you, I'm highly motivated every single game and I don’t need a past experience to get me up for a game," he said.

"They beat us at our place and we want to beat them at their place, it’s as simple as that and we’re hungry for it, so we’re looking forward to the game but wary at the same time of the threats that they pose."

While the visitors have taken maximum points from their last three matches, Birmingham have taken just one point from theirs.

Rooney's outfit currently sit in 19th place in the Championship table, 11 places adrift of the Robins in eighth.

But, form is temporary and Dickie was keen to point out the challenges that playing an out-of-form side can bring.

"A wounded animal can be hard to play against sometimes, they might try to do something fresh," he said. "They could be unpredictable and we need to be ready for whatever comes our way.

"It's going to be a difficult game, they’ll make it hard for us but when you’re on a run like they are it can be quite difficult to play at home so hopefully we can implement our style of play and stamp on the game and pick up another three points. It’s really important to do so to carry on our momentum."
