Bristol City failed in their attempt to sell Louis Britton during the January transfer window, according to reports.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Robins from Mangotsfield United in 2019, spent one-month on loan at Woking in December, making four appearances for the National League club.

He has been a key member of the club’s youth team since his arrival, scoring 13 goals for their Under-23 team.

Bristol Live has reported that the club failed to offload the forward in January, before an eventual loan move to Waterford in the Irish First Division was agreed, where he has scored two goals in five games.

The website says unless Nigel Pearson brings the forward into his first-team plans next season, he could very well be released at the end of the campaign.

Blackburn and Preston send youth stars out on loan

Elsewhere in the Championship, Blackburn Rovers have sent two youth players out on loan, with Aidan Dowling joining City of Liverpool for a month, while Joe Nolan has re-signed with Curzon Ashton until the end of the season, as per their official site.

Sheffield United loanee’s transfer admission

Finally, Conor Hourihane, who is currently on loan at Sheffield United from Aston Villa, believes his time with the latter is ‘probably done’.

The 31-year-old is out of contract in the summer and discussed his future in Ireland’s pre-match press conference on Monday.

Speaking to the press, via the Irish Examiner, he said: “That Villa chapter is probably done. There’s been nothing, to be honest with you. No conversations there so we’ll see what happens in the summer.”
