Bristol City and Birmingham City injury news as several players ruled out of clash

Bristol City and Birmingham City injury news as several players ruled out of clash this week.

Bristol City will be looking to get back on track as they make the trip to St. Andrew’s to face Birmingham City.

The Robins drew their last game 0-0 at home to Coventry City and are now winless in their last four games.

Their recent form has seen Nigel Pearson’s side slip to 14th in the Championship table.

Birmingham go into this weekend’s clash on the back of their 1-0 loss away at Middlesbrough last time out. Prior to their loss to Boro, they went three matches without defeat.

Birmingham City injury news

As per a report by Birmingham Live, centre-back Marc Roberts is out with a hamstring injury for the Blues, whilst fellow defender Nico Gordon is also sidelined.

The Midlands outfit remain without midfielder Gary Gardner and Norwich City loan winger Przemyslaw Plachetra.

However, on a more positive note, defensive pair George Friend and Harlee Dean are closing in on their respective returns to the action but it is yet to be known whether they will be playing tomorrow.

Summer recruits Tahith Chong and Krystian Bielik both picked up knocks last weekend away at Sheffield United but both started in mid-week against Middlesbrough which suggests they are fine.

Bristol City injury news

Bristol City will be without midfielder Joe Williams, who is suspended picking up five yellow cards so far this season. Young starlet Alex Scott is back though after serving his suspension against Coventry and defender Timm Klose is also fit again.

Kal Naismith, who has played in every game so far this season, is out of action with a calf injury and was substituted during the Sky Blues draw. Pearson has said it is ‘nothing’ serious and said on Tuesday that he will be out for around 10 days.

Long-term absentee Tomas Kalas remains unavailable but is close to returning to full training, whilst summer signing Kane Wilson’s knee problem will be assessed.
