18 players that should have never left Bristol City including Liverpool & Man Utd flops - gallery

Bristol City has been a club of development for several players over the years - but not all have gone on to bigger and better things after leaving.

There's always an end to every story, and in football when a player either calls time on their club or is moved on there is always an opinion to be had.

A sale of a player can either be met with the opinion that they deserve to move away depending on the fee, and then sometimes they are happy to see the back of a player.

At Bristol City, there have been several players who have found out that the grass isn't always greener or have regretted leaving Ashton Gate. City have been pushing for the Premier League, and the closest they have got to reaching it is losing to Hull City in the play-off final in 2008.

Some City players that have left have gone on to play in the English top flight, whilst others who you think would be destined to play in the division, have ended up not gracing it. Alex Scott is the player right now that most are consigned to losing at some point, and this summer will be an interesting one for the 19-year-old who is subject of interest from several teams.

Scott has a mature mindset for someone who is still in his teenage years, and should he depart, his choice of the club will be really important for the development of his career. There have been some players that have come before him that have ended up hampering their careers after leaving City, so it's vital he chooses the right team.

Here are 18 players, as suggested by supporters of the Robins, who should have never left. Do you agree? And is there anyone missing or worth a mention?
