Doughnut chain Crosstown has launched its second shop in Bristol just a month after opening in Queens Road - and we couldn’t resist visiting to find out more, and trying out one of the doughnuts.

The pop up food van at the heart of Cabot Circus and allows visitors to try all their best-selling donuts and deserts, the majority of which are vegan. They also offer a selection of fresh coffees, ice creams and limited edition cookies.

Every morning the Crosstown team bakes their sweet treats to ensure they are fresh for the customers before they are served at their cafes and vans.

Crosstown’s chief executive Howard Ebison told us the company had had a ‘really warm welcome’ in Bristol, and they had much busier than they initially expected. “It has been fantastic,” he said.

During our visit, we picked the raspberry jam filled doughnut to try out. It came in a double-lined bag which recommended eating the doughnut on the day of sale to appreciate the freshness.

Picking it up, it was clearly sugary and when I went to squeeze it the jam came gushing out. One bite, and it certainly was sugary, fresh and full of jam. I really liked it.

Only time will tell if Crosstown’s Bristol food van will be a sugary success.
