Ex-Bristol City and Everton striker available on free transfer after League Two release

Kieran Agard is on the search for a new club after his contract at Doncaster Rovers was not renewed.

The League Two outfit confirmed their retained list and announced that five players would be departing the Keepmoat Stadium with Agard heading the list of departures, alongside Aidan Barlow, Jonathan Mitchell and Ro-Shaun Williams.

Ollie Younger had been released but is invited for pre-season training meanwhile former Bristol Rovers midfielder Zain Westbrooke is out of contract but has been offered new terms. In addition to those released, both Caolan Lavery and Reo Griffiths have been transfer listed.

Agard had been at Doncaster for 18 months, and scored three goals and assisted three times in 39 appearances for Rovers. He made 31 appearances this season but did not feature in their final three games of the season.

Doncaster parted company with Danny Schofield earlier this month and replaced him with Grant McCann, who had turned down League One clubs and an international role to take charge of the Yorkshire outfit for a second time in his management career.

Agard's best spells in his career came at Rotherham United, Bristl City and MK Dons. He scored 21 goals in 46 games for the Millers in 2013/2014, helping them win promotion throuh the play-offs. Agard wasn't kept on however and joined City in 2014 where his 13 goals in 39 matches, helped them win the League One title convincingly.

He remained in the Championship and got 25 appearances but only registered two goals. He was later moved on to MK Dons, and hit double figures in hi first season there, and despite relegation in 2018 remained with them, firing 20 goals in 43 games to help them win promotion back to the third tier.
