Bristol City vs Man City: How Robins XI compares to Pep Guardiola’s £606.8m stars

Bristol City will welcome the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City to Ashton Gate this evening for an FA Cup fifth round clash.

The Robins, who are on an unbeaten run of 12 matches, face their toughest test of all, and it's fair to say despite not losing a game since the turn of the New Year and it being on their own turf, they will go in to the match as massive underdogs.

City and Man City are on completely different wavelengths when it comes to football finances, with the multi-billion television deal in the Premier League a reason for that. The hosts are trying to cut their cloth accordingly to avoid any Financial Fair Play punishments, whilst their opponents are facing charges by the Premier League over FFP.

In their last match, the Citizens convincingly beat AFC Bournemouth 4-1, who opted not to play Antoine Semenyo against them. City sold Semenyo in January and that helped fund the moves of Anis Mehmeti and Harry Cornick, who were signed from Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town. Mehmeti and Cornick played in the recent 1-0 win over Hull, but will have not even come close to even the small fee that Man City paid for Maximo Perrone.

Guardiola could ring the changes tonight, but one clash people want to see is how Alex Scott, dubbed the Guernsey Grealish, comes up against England international Jack Grealish. Erling Haaland is the obvious name that any player would want to test themselves against, but is yet undecided whether he'll play a part.
