Bristol City v Hull City injury news: Ten sidelined and two doubtful for Championship clash

Bristol City host Hull City at Ashton Gate in the Sky Bet Championship this weekend as the hosts look to continue their unbeaten run against the Tigers.

The Robins are unbeaten in their last 11 matches after a Nahki Wells penalty rescued a point against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. It was their first penalty in 469 days and it maintained that City would remain unbeaten since the turn of the New Year. Hull have not on since February 4, and have scored one goal in their last three matches, with a 3-1 defeat to Norwich City in between goalless draws against Preston and Stoke City.

Liam Rosenior's side are two places higher than City in the table with only a point separating them both but Nigel Pearson's men do hold a game in hand over them. A win for City could take them into mid-table, whilst they could drop as low as 18th with a defeat. Both sides have injury concerns ahead of the match.

Bristol City injury news

The Robins were dealt a blow this week when Rob Atkinson was confirmed to be out for the rest of the season. He has a serious knee injury that will keep him out for the remaining 14 games of the season, and now the attention will have to turn to getting him fit for pre-season.

Pearson provided an update on Kal Naismith, and he is likely to make a return either just before the international break or most certainly after it which is about five games time. Naismith could have been considered an option to replace Atkinson had he been fit but that responsibility will now fall on Tomas Kalas, who has had his own injury problems this season.

Tommy Conway is making progress after a hamstring tendon injury picked up at the start of January. He is back on the training pitches and with his teammates but is unlikely to be availble for selection this weekend. Kane Wilson meanwhile continues to make a recovery from his knee injury from October, but needs to prove his match fitness to Pearson.

Hull City injury news

Adame Traore will be part of the travelling contingent making the long journey to Bristol this weekend. A hamstring injury sustained in pre-season has ruled him out for the entire campaign, and now after a year out he looks set to return.

Aaron Connolly however will be out for the foreseeable future after suffering an injury that is worse than was initially thought. The Republic of Ireland international was substituted against Norwich City last week and is unlikely to play against City.

Allahyar Sayyadmanesh is another set to miss out, despite getting himself back out on the grass and training with his teammates. The Iranian has been out since early January and already had been out for four months and to avoid any flare ups, will not be risked this weekend.

Former Fulham midfielder Michael Seri is expected to be out for three to four weeks with a groin issue that only came to light late on Thursday which comes as a blow. Ryan Woods is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury in the warm-up last week. Xavier Simons, who was a reported target for City in January could feature in their absence.

Goalkeeper Nathan Baxter has an ankle injury and is unlikely to play for the Tigers again this season. Vaughn Covil has an ACL problem and is another long-term absentee.
