For this yellow warning of wind, The Met Office has said to expect:

  • Some delays to road, rail and air transport are likely
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

What is the forecast for after the weather warning?

When the warning expires at 6pm, Bristol can expect to feel a pretty sudden change in the temperatures.

According to the Met Office, at 6pm there could be gusts of up to 30mph which could make the commute home from work slightly unpleasant.

However, once we reach the end of the weather warning, there could be a very sudden change.

By 8pm, it is forecasted that the wind gusts could be almost half to just 16 mph. This will make for a more pleasant evening, and hopefully a peaceful night sleep after a day of strong gusts.

What is the forecast until the weekend?

Friday looks set to be cloudy initially for Bristol, and the wind gusts will be significantly less than Thursday peaking at around 20/22mph.

There should be a high temperature of 11°C, making it a warmer Friday than in recent weeks.

The overnight temperature should drop to no less than 5/6°C.

Saturday will be a much sunnier start, but the lack of clouds could lead to some chilly temperatures as we head through the morning.

Temperatures should hit double figures in the afternoon and fall only gently heading into the evening and night.

Sunday will be cloudy for most of the day, but temperatures should hit 11/12°C in the afternoon.

It should be a dry weekend on the whole, and wind gusts shouldn’t get too close to those of Thursday.
