Parents can now see where the worst schools in Bristol are based thanks to a new interactive map. The tool highlights every school to be given either an Inadequate or Needs Improvement rating by the education watchdog, Ofsted - its lowest scores.
Schools deemed to be inadequate are placed into ‘special measures’ where the Secretary of State for Education will issue an academy order to a maintained school judged. The school will then receive additional, external support to secure the required improvements.
Our map allows parents to easily see which areas have the most schools deemed to be failing by the education regulator. There are just three mainstream schools in the city branded as inadequate, suggesting things have to be particularly bad to be given the tag.
