A woman in her 60s has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Bristol last night (June 9).

Officers were called at around 5.30pm to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on the A370 Brunel Way in Ashton.

The pedestrian, who was believed to be on her way to the Take That concert at Ashton Gate Stadium, was taken to hospital and sadly died from her injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.

A woman in her 60s has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs. She has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

The road was closed to traffic travelling into Bristol before being reopened at around 9pm.
