In the wake of Eunice and Dudley, Storm Franklin has arrived in the UK and is mainly impacting northern regions of the country - bringing high speed winds that exceed 60mph.

However, the Met Office has placed a yellow weather warning for wind in Bristol as experts fear similar disruption caused by Storm Eunice.

The warning, which is set to expire on Monday 21 February at 1pm, comes following red and amber warnings issued to Bristol last weekend as a result of the dangerous Storm Eunice.

Recent bad weather has caused problems for various services across the city such as air travel and trains - but have bin and recycling collections been affected too?

As a result of the severe weather warnings issued to Bristol, as well as the advice for residents to avoid all non-essential travel, bin and recycling collection on Friday 18th February was postponed.

Instead the collections took place today (Monday 21 February) and each date for the rest of the week will now happen one day later.

Garden waste collections that were also set to be completed on Friday 18th February were collected on Saturday 19th February.

During the ongoing Storm Franklin, Bristol City Council have advised residents to store their waste and recycling in a secure area to keep the city clean and tidy.

  • Friday 18th February to be collected on Monday 21 February
  • Tuesday 22nd February to be collected on Wednesday 23 February
  • Wednesday 23rd February to be collected on Thursday 24th February
  • Thursday 24th February to be collected on Friday 25th February
  • Friday 25th February to be collected on Saturday 26th February
