It has been described by visitors as having a vibrant community which has earned its place among the 54 “poshest” villages in the UK.

The average house price for those wanting to live out their countryside dreams here will set you back an eye-watering £954,993.

An analyst for Savills explained what makes villages such as Wellow so sought after.

Frances Clacy said: “People want villages that have a bit of everything, from schools to stunning countryside, with accessibility to cities and transport infrastructure,

“Less well-trumpeted factors count too, such as the main road through the village should only lead to other villages.”
