Weather: wet and unsettled start to the year set to continue for Bristol

The ending of the first week of 2022 looks set to bring plenty of rain and unsettled conditions to Bristol.

Hide AdThe rain and wind from today should ease throughout the night and Friday will see the return of cooler temperatures, sunny skies and, most importantly, no rain.
There will be a mid afternoon high of around 6°C, but make the most of the sun in Bristol, as there will be little sunshine around on Saturday.
From 9am through to the early evening, heavy rain and 19/20mph winds look set to hit the region.

Hide AdThe cloudy weather will bring milder temperatures, and once the rain comes it could reach double figures in some parts.
The day’s rain will ease oversight and Sunday morning should be relatively dry and bright.
However, there will be light showers across the city from the afternoon into the evening.

The gloomy skies will linger throughout Monday, and although the rain should be light, a cool breeze will keep the ‘feels like’ temperature in single figures.

Sunshine and scattered blustery showers will give way to a spell of rain, perhaps with some snow on hills. Turning drier during the afternoon with brighter spells. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Windy and milder Saturday with outbreaks of rain clearing to showers later. Dry for much of Sunday, but outbreaks of rain arriving by evening. Cloudy, breezy and mild on Monday.
