Bristol weather: Met Office issue 16-hour yellow warning for rain - here's what to expect

The Met Office has warned people in Bristol that they should expect heavy rain from this morning (July 15)

They have issued a 16-hour yellow warning which is due to start at 8am and last until midnight.

It reads that Bristolians should expect “outbreaks of rain, some heavy and thundery. Some torrential downpours are likely in places with 15 to 20 mm falling in less than an hour and as much as 30 to 40 mm in 3 hours.”

The Met Office has warned people in Bristol to expect the following:

- There is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses

- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings

- Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services

- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

- There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life
