Bristol weather: Met Office forecast for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

We are bidding farewell to 2022 soon, and many people in Bristol are wondering that the unsettled weather may interfere with their plans to ring in the new year. And if you have any outdoor activities planned for this weekend, it will help to know the weather forecast so you can prepare yourself in advance.

This year, New Year’s Day occurs on a Sunday, and various UK cities, including Bristol, will host fireworks displays as the clock strikes midnight. The Met Office predicts that the majority of the UK will see heavy rain or showers as well as strong winds this weekend.

However the outlook for the city indicates that there will be no heavy rain on New Year’s Eve, so your plans for the new year’s countdown with your friends and family outdoors may still go forward. Bristol weather forecast ahead of New Year’s Eve weekend

Friday, December 30 weather forecast 

According to the Met Office, Bristol will see some light rain in the morning, which will turn heavy at 8am. It will then clear at 1pm with a possibility of light rain while the remainder of the night will be dry with a maximum temperature of 13C.

New Year’s Eve weather forecast

On Saturday, the city is expected to have heavy rain starting at noon and continuing until 3pm, followed by light rain most likely from 6pm to 9pm. Any outside celebration won’t likely be ruined by rain as the rest of the night will be dry until the next morning.

The Met Office says Sunday will remain dry for the rest of the day with a maximum temperature of 11C.
