5. Latmier's Sandwich
When asked about the impact of the cost of living crisis on her business, Joanne, the owner of Latmier's Sandwich, said: "It's quite difficult to say because we did have a window that was smashed and not repaired for seven months, so the takings were down and that was the start of the crisis. But since we've had the window mended, it's still not come back to what I would hope it would be, and a few of my regular customers are now bringing packed lunches in rather than going out for lunch. So, I do think it's having an impact overall, sadly.
[As for footfall,] I'd say we're about 10% down. Luckily, I do buffets for local offices and doctor surgeries and things like that, and people have been asking me recently to do funeral food for a wake, so that's kept us going. But without that, we would have been possibly in difficulties. I don't want to put my prices up too much because I know everybody is short on money. So, it's definitely had an impact."
