We visit the beautiful Bristol park with a bandstand, amphitheatre and tennis court

It was built on top of a field where the fire brigade’s horses were once kept

Kingswood Park dates back to 1934 and was built on top of the field where the fire brigade’s horses were once kept.

The gates contain the coat of arms of Kingswood Urban District Council, which were chosen in a competition in 1944 and reflect the bringing together of Hanham and Kingswood.

The park, run by the South Gloucestershire Council with the support of the Friends of Kingswood Park, contains a mixture of facilities for leisure, recreation and sport, including a tennis court, a bandstand, a children’s play area and outdoor fitness equipment.

The park is open from 6am to 10pm from April to October and from 6am to 9pm from November to March.
