Police have arrested two boys in connection with an attempted motorbike theft in Clifton.

The incident, which has been viewed by millions on social media, saw three young men attempting to break a motorbike lock with a hammer at Berkeley Square in Clifton at around 3.44pm on Monday, October 23.

After members of the public challenged them, the masked suspects made off on a motorbike towards Park Street.

Officers attended the scene following the incident, where they carried out a search of the area and took witness statements.

Yesterday (October 26), officers arrested two boys aged 16 and 17 on suspicion of robbery, and they remained in police custody.

The 17-year-old was also arrested for driving a motor vehicle dangerously.

An Avon & Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Investigation into the incident continues and officers would still like to hear from anyone with information or dashcam or other footage which could help.”
