Tributes paid to Bristol woman who was the ‘life and soul’ of Ashton Gate stadium

Lisa Fillingham worked at Ashton Gate for almost a quarter of a century

Tributes have been paid to well-known Bristol woman who worked at Ashton Gate Stadium for almost 25 years.

Lisa Fillingham was the senior sales executive for Bristol City football club and responsible for selling advertising, sponsorship and hospitality opportunities at the stadium.

Lisa, who died after a short illness, was born in Hartcliffe and attended Hartcliffe Comprehensive School. She started her career selling advertising space for local newspapers an worked for Community Media on Hartcliffe Way, which published the Bristol Journal newspaper and titles across the UK.

Bristol City and Bristol Bears have both paid tribute to Lisa, who has been described as ‘the life and soul for those who have worked for City, Ashton Gate and across the Bristol Sport Group’.

In a statement, Bristol City said: “Bristol City is deeply saddened that our friend and colleague Lisa Fillingham has passed away after a short illness.

“Lisa will be remembered by friends, colleagues and fans for her friendliness and willingness to help others. Our hearts go out to her family at this tragic time. We love you Lisa.”
