Bib Gourmand restaurants are much followed by those readers of the Guide who are seeking affordable meals out but don’t want to compromise on quality.

There are 20 new Bib Gourmands awarded in the UK and three are in Bristol.

They are Cor in North Street, Bedminster; The Blaise Inn at Henbury and Marmo in Baldwin Street.

Marmo was already in the Michelin Guide but it is promoted to a Bib Gourmand for the first time. The Blaise Inn and COR are new entries in the guide.

Marmo has been praised for its ‘Mediterranean vibes’ and described by Michelin inspectors as an ‘on-trend osteria-cum-wine-bar offering Italian dishes, accompanied by organic and biodynamic wines’.

Cor, according to the guide, positions itself ‘somewhere between a tapas bar and a buzzy restaurant’.

The Blaise Inn, meanwhile, is described as ‘a traditional village pub, serving British classics with a modern twist’.

The list of restaurants with a new Bib Gourmand has been published ahead of the March 27 announcement of Michelin stars.

Bulrush and Paco Tapas in Bristol currently have a star each and all eyes will be on the awards to see if they will be joined by other restaurants in the city.
