Antisocial Behaviour (ASB) refers to behaviours and activities which cause harm or distress to an individual, community or neighbourhood and fall into three categories: personal (when a person targets a specific individual or group), nuisance (when a person causes trouble, distress or suffering to a community) and environmental (when a person’s actions affect the wider environment, such as public spaces or buildings).
ASB can include noise, shouting, swearing and fighting, intimidation of neighbours, drunkenness and vandalism.
The latest police data, made available by Avon & Somerset Police, shows every ASB offence recorded in Bristol from January 2023 to December 2023 that was not later cancelled. There were 9,104 crimes of this nature recorded across the city during the 12 month period, up from 8,936 the previous year.
