The University of Bristol and the University of the West of England have retained their positions among the South West’s top 10 universities, according to The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

The guide has been published digitally today (Friday, September 15) as a definitive ranking of UK universities to give an overview of the country’s higher education institutions.

It includes profiles on 134 universities, based on data published in the last two months.

Where do the University of Bristol and the University of the West of England rank?

Bristol’s two universities missed out on the top spot again this year, with the University of Bath and the University of Exeter scooping first and second place respectively.

The University of Bristol still remains one of the UK’s top universities and is third best in the South West region, with a national ranking of 16.

With a national ranking of 72, University of the West of England is dubbed the sixth best university in the South West.

It has been a good year for universities in Bath. University of Bath is the number one university in the South West, according to The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.

Meanwhile, University of Bath Spa wins University of the Year for Social Inclusion.

Further afield in the South West, University of Exeter is named University of the Year runner-up.

This year’s edition will be published this weekend in The Sunday Times on September 17.

The guide provides the definitive rankings for UK universities and the most comprehensive overview of higher education in Britain.

It is the definitive guide to the country’s universities, which ranks them based on various factors, including graduate employment and teaching quality.

The guide includes profiles on 134 universities and the definitive UK university rankings, making use of the latest data published in the past two months.
