Bristol Museums’ online shop is now accepting pre-orders for the city’s new edition of Monopoly.

Pre-orders of the new game will enjoy free shipping and, like every purchase from Bristol’s Museums, help support places like M Shed, Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, and Blaise Museum.

Announcing the start of pre-sales, Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol, said: “People across Bristol are excited to see the newest edition of the world’s most famous board game, celebrating our great city, and I am certainly looking forward to playing it with my family this Christmas.

“I would encourage everyone to pre-order the new Bristol Monopoly today from Bristol Museums. Not only are we offering free shipping, but every purchase will help support our city’s brilliant museums.”

In May, Mayor Marvin Rees launched a call for Bristolians to nominate places to feature on the new board. At that time, John Keen Tomlinson, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK, who are producing the game under licence from Hasbro, said: “It’s a new game for a new generation.”

After an enthusiastic public response, June saw the opportunity for people to suggest Bristol charities to also be showcased in the game.

The game’s release coincides with Bristol 650, a year-long celebration of the anniversary of the city being granted county status by Edward III in 1373.

The new Bristol edition of Monopoly will be released later this year, 23 years after the original version was released. That edition saw Anchor Road as ‘Mayfair’ and Temple Street as ‘Old Kent Road’.

Bristol’s Free Museums and Historic Houses also include the Georgian House Museum, the Red Lodge Museum, and Bristol Archives. Find out what’s on.

Free shipping on Bristol Monopoly is limited to pre-orders for delivery within the UK.
