Consumer guide Which? members have rated four historic attractions in and around Bristol in the UK Top 60.
Which? asked 2,994 members to rate historic attractions across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The results of the survey show that after many months of lockdown and uncertainty, people want to engage in their surroundings and develop a greater appreciation for their nuance. People are craving historical context - vibrant backstories to balance out the ‘wow’ factor.
Here are the four historic attractions in the Bristol World area to make the final Top 60.
1. Tyntesfield, Wraxall
At number 25 in the list is National Trust-owned Tyntesfield at Wraxall, which scored 80% and five stars for its facilities. It also got four stars for lack of crowds and four stars for value for money.
2. Roman baths and Pump Rooms, Bath
Rated at number five in the UK Top 60 with an ‘attraction’ score of 87% (based on a combination of overall satisfaction/likelihood to recommend), the Roman baths and Pump Rooms was handed five stars for entertainment/engagement, two stars for facilities, three for lack of crowds and four for value for money.
3. Bristol Cathedral, Bristol
At number 60 in the list is Bristol Cathedral, a free-to-enter attraction in the heart of the city, which scored a 68% ‘attraction’ score according to Which? members.
4. Bath Abbey, Bath
The free-to-enter Bath Abbey is at number 50 in the list with an ‘attraction’ score of 73%, four stars for value for money and three for lack of crowds.
