Fish and chips is still up there as the nation’s favourite dish but this Great British staple isn’t as cheap as it once was.
In the past year, fish and chip meals have increased by a whopping 19% - that’s a rise of about £1.44 to £9 on average for one portion, according to the Office for National Statistics.
In search of a bargain, we asked Bristol World readers for their top tips on the cheapest (but still good quality) fish and chip shops in the city.
And they have come up trumps with these seven great local fish and chip shops.
