Bristol has eight primary schools at or over full capacity, new figures show with parents set to receive primary school offers this month.
The Education Policy Institute said areas with schools operating close to or over capacity see teaching staff facing additional demand. A school is at or in excess of capacity when the number of pupils enrolled is greater than or equal to its number of places.
Department for Education (DfE) figures show 17 schools were at or over capacity in Bristol in the 2021-22 academic year. Eight of these were primary schools which are set to inform prospective pupils on whether or not they have secured a spot at the school. Offers will be sent out on April 17.
