There are 15 primary and secondary schools in Bristol which are over capacity .

There are more than 3,500 schools in England operating beyond capacity – including 15 in Bristol.

Latest figures published by the Department of Education for the 2020/21 academic year shows that 3,537 schools in England are operating at or beyond their capacity.

There are more than 2,700 primary schools and more than 750 secondary schools over capacity.

Meanwhile, in Bristol, eight primary and seven secondary schools are ranked as over capacity, from 14.9% to 0.7%.

A school is at or in excess of capacity when the number of pupils enrolled is greater than or equal to its number of places.
