But fear not - BristolWorld has combined house price data for postcodes in and around Bristol with local authority scores in the national happiness index compiled by the Office for National Statistics to create this list of places around Bristol which have people flocking to them.
The index looks at where residents are happiest living thanks to everything from excellent places to eat and drink, independent retailers to do a bit of shopping and historic sights and green spaces.

Yatton is a short train journey from Bristol packed with great pubs and a local bakery. It has a happiness score of 7.53 and an average house price of £337,416

Long Ashton is a small village based just outside of Bristol. It is known to have many independent businesses and has a happiness score of 7.53 and an average house price of £458,308.

Saltford is a large village with more than 4,000 residents based alongside the A4, the River Avon, and the main-line railway with the Bristol to Bath cycle-path passing through.
