Light installations illuminating trees along two busy pathways near Bristol’s city centre have been switched on as the winter months approach.

Redcliffe and Temple BID had installed tree lighting along Victoria Street in December, last year, a move which was welcomed by residents. The group has now added lighting in Temple Gardens, in addition to Victoria Street.

The head of Redcliffe and Temple BID confirmed the positive feedback from both pedestrians and businesses in the area has encouraged plans to install more installations.

Steve Bluff said: “Since the lights on Victoria Street were first installed, we’ve received positive feedback from businesses and the wider community, highlighting how they have changed the look and feel of the street.

“We have been looking for opportunities where adding some extra light will make a real difference to the area and the lighting in Temple Gardens will do just that. There are plans to extend this project into new areas in the future so watch this space.”

Both winter tree light installations will be switched on from 4pm to midnight each night from early October to the end of March and will be a permanent fixture.
