He was a popular, well-known Bristol City fan and stand-up comedian who brightened up people’s lives - and today those same people who loved him will be lining the streets of south Bristol to pay their respects to Stoney Garnett.
Mr Garnett’s body will be drawn by horse-drawn carriage as part of a funeral cortege which starts at Ashton Gate at 3pm. It will then head toward Bedminster along Winterstoke Road and up the A38 past the Cross Hands pub toward South Bristol Crematorium for the service.

Many people were expected to line the streets for the cortege.
Mr Garnett was as passionate about Bristol City as he was about his city. He ran for mayor twice, in 2012 and 2016. He was most well-known for his dress sense; often seen wearing a red trilby hat and feather.
His death was met with tributes across the city. Current mayor Marvin Rees said: “Stoney was a real character and an absolute gent, as I found when running alongside him for Mayor.”
