Located in what was previously Deb’s cafe, The Arjee Bhajee is run by Easton-born Mahfuzal Haque, whose father is one of the owners of The Old India in St Nicholas Street in Bristol city centre.

It’s the seventh year for the awards, which used to be called the British Takeaway Awards, and they were hosted by The Masked Singer presenter Joel Dommett.

The judges included TV fashion guru Gok Wan, Great British Menu’s Andi Oliver and Michelin-trained Young MasterChef judge Poppy O’Toole.

The Arjee Bhajee owner took to social media to thank customers and judges.
