Bristol residents have woken up to snow across the city as the Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice remains in place till mid-day today (December 11). Snow has also settled in towns around the city, including Keynsham, Thornbury and Yate.
Snow fell in the early hours of this morning and led to difficult driving conditions this morning. So far we know of one crash involving two vehicles which closed Stockwood Lane at 7am this morning - no-one was badly hurt.

The Met Office forecasts no more snow today, but temperatures will remain cold with a maximum of 3C, plus the possibility of wintry showers later. The Met doesn’t predict snow for the rest of the week - however, Google’s weather forecast predicts more snow showers on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurdsay and Friday.
The Met Office’s yellow weather warning urges people to be careful due to snow and ice on roads and footpaths. This morning, Bristol City Council said all priority routes in the city will be gritted today. A spokesperson added: “Very frosty & icy conditions expected today.” The gritting routes can be viewed here.
