The blaze broke out in a field on Hall Lane, Horton near Chipping Sodbury in South Gloucestershire this afternoon (Monday, August 8).

Crews from Temple, Thornbury, Kingswood, Yate, Bath and Gloucestershire arrived to find a combine harvester and surrounding field ‘well alight’.

Firefighters are using three high pressure hose reels and one 45mm jet to get the blaze under control.

The fire is affecting local roads and residents are urged avoid the area where possible.

Avon Fire and Rescue said it was receiving a lot of calls about the incident, adding: “Rest assured we are at the scene and working hard to extinguish the blaze. No injuries have been reported.”

It comes just hours after another field fire eight miles away in Didmarton raged for most of the night on Sunday (August 7), spreading to over 110,000sq metres and causing damage to farm machinery.
