Online fashion giant Shein is branching into the physical world by opening “pop-up” stores across the UK - including one in Bristol. The shops along with a “glam bus” from the retailer kicked things off with a visit to Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre on March 24 and Bristol is the next stop.

The clothing brand has been shrouded in controversy since its founding in 2008. Although it has proven popular with online shoppers thanks to its ultra-cheap prices, it’s also known for its alleged poor treatment of workers and environmentally unsustainable business model which was explored in Channel 4 documentary “Inside the Shein Machine”.

Even so, Shein is off on a tour of the UK, landing at Bristol’s Cabot Circus on Saturday (April 1) before heading off to South Wales. The retailer’s pop-up shops and Easter-themed “glam” brisbus will allow customers to preview Shein’s “spring edit” with free manicures for each customer as well as the chance to win prizes such as clothing and make-up.
