Sex Pistols and Blondie legends to play tiny Bristol venue

Members of the Sex Pistols and Blondie will perform a gig together at one of Bristol’s smallest music venues.

Sex Pistols bass player Glen Matlock and Blondie drummer Clem Burke will be joined by David Bowie and Iggy Pop guitarist Kevin Armstrong for a special show to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the release of Iggy Pop’s classic Lust for Life album.

At the gig at the Exchange in Old Market on February 28, broadcaster Katie Puckrik will appear on vocals, Luis Correia will play guitar and Heaven 17 touring band member Florence Sabeva will be on keyboards.

The band will perform the Lust For Life album in full, as well as revisiting songs from across the individual band members’ careers.

The Bristol show will the first on the 11-date UK tour, which also includes a show at the legendary 100 Club in London.

Glen Matlock says: “To be on stage with these fellow like-minded guys and gals and celebrate our collective musical ancestries should be a pleasure, so come on down and let’s all hit the roof together.”

Clem Burke added: “Everyone in the group is looking forward to a great night of rock ‘n’ roll with a few extra surprises in store.”

Glen Matlock, Clem Burke and Kevin Armstrong have all toured with Iggy Pop and each has made an album with him.
