Road closures: six for Bristol drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bristol will have six National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that six closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M5, from 9pm November 27 to 6am December 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for structure maintenance.

• M5, from 9pm December 4 to 6am December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for structure maintenance.

• M49, from 9pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M49 northbound, M5, junction 18a to M4, junction 22 - lane closure for drainage works.

• M5, from 9pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18a exit slip road closure for structural maintenance, diversion southbound, on M5 to junction 19 and return.

• M5, from 9pm December 11 to 5am December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 lane closures for structure maintenance.

• M5, from 9pm December 11 to 6am December 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closures for structure maintenance.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
