Road closures: four for Bristol drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bristol will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bristol will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M49, from 9pm April 12 to 5.59am April 13, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 17 lane closure for road markings renewal.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

M32, from 8pm April 17 to 6am April 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 both directions, junction 1 to 2 lane closure for barrier works.

M4, from 8pm April 17 to 5am April 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 northbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvement works, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22, M4 eastbound to junction 20.

M4, from 8pm April 17 to 5am April 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 southbound, junction 15 closed for SMART motorway improvements, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22 return to M4 to junction 20.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
