Road closures: five for Bristol drivers over the next fortnight

Drivers in and around Bristol will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

Drivers in and around Bristol will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A4, from midnight, June 3 to 11pm June 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A4 Portway Roundabout to St Andrews Roundabout used by GWR Railway Replacement Buses on Bristol Temple Meads - Severn Beach and Bristol Temple Meads - Filton Abbey Wood routes.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 9pm June 19 to 5am July 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 19 to 18 lane closures for structure maintenance.

M49, from 8pm June 26 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M49 both directions M4, junction 22 to M5, junction 18a - lane closures for safety barrier work.

M5, from 9pm June 27 to 6am June 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 to 19 - lane closure for drainage works.

M32, from midday, July 1 to 5am July 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 both Directions, junction 2 to 3. No closures of any kind. St Pauls Carnival, St Pauls, Bristol. Estimated 100k people to attend.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
