Road closures: eight for Bristol drivers this week

Drivers in and around Bristol will have eight National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And four of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that eight closures are due to start this week:

• M49, from 10pm September 14 to 6am September 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 18 entry slip roads closure for drainage. No access from Portway Roundabout, no access from St Brendans Roundabout to M5 northbound, or M49, diversions, Portway Roundabout: Continue West on A4 Bristow Broadway to St Brendan's Roundabout, M49 and M5 northbound: M5 southbound to junction 19 and Return.

• A4, from 11pm September 16 to 6am September 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 19 entry slip road closed for drainage works, diversion - Join M5 northbound, exit, junction 18, turn and re-join M5 southbound.

• M5, from 10pm September 20 to 6am September 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 20 to junction 19 Lane closure and, junction 19 exit Slip closure for Cyclic works, diversion to junction 18a and return.

• M5, from 10pm September 21 to 6am September 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 18 exit slip road closure, *diversion via M5 northbound, exit, junction 17, turn and re-join M5 southbound to junction 18.

• M32, from 7am September 22 to 7pm September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 Both Directions, junction 1 to junction 2 Hard Shoulder closures for inspections.

• M32, from 10pm September 23 to 6am September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M32 northbound, junction 2 to 1 lane closure for maintenance works.

• M4, from 10pm September 26 to 6am September 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M4 eastbound, junction 20 entry slip road from M5 southbound, junction 15 closed, diversion via M4 westbound, exit, junction 22, turn and re-join M4 eastbound.

• M5, from 10pm September 26 to 6am October 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 18 entry slip from the M49 closed. Includes lane closures on the M5, junction 18 to 19. For maintenance works. Diversion via the alternative entry slip from St Brendans Roundabout.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
