A popular food store is moving into a former Wilko unit in Bristol. 

Farmfoods is set to open in the premises at Avonmeads Retail Park in mid-April.

The Wilko in St Philip's closed after it was announced the discount retailer entered administration last August.     

A Farmfoods spokesperson said: "The shop will offer our full range of branded and own-brand products including frozen food, groceries, chilled foods, bread, milk, fresh fruit and vegetables along with a range of household and other items.

"The location benefits from a large free customer car park and will be open 7 days a week, Mon - Fri 8am-9pm; Sat 8am-8pm; Sun 10am-4pm.

"Customers can visit www.farmfoods.co.uk to sign up to receive occasional special offers, discounts and exclusive deals. After signing up they will also be emailed some personal money-off vouchers for extra savings on their shopping."

The new store is due to open on April 18 at 8am, becoming the second Farmfoods site in Bristol with another store in Filton.      

The new Avonmeads store will be next to an Iceland Food Warehouse, joining a row of shops that also includes B&M Bargains, The Range and Poundland.
