“Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten”

An Indian restaurant in Bristol has announced its closure “with a heavy heart and humble gratitude” after almost 10 years.

The Mint Room, on Clifton Road in Clifton, has made the “difficult and emotional” decision to focus on its sister site in Bath.

The restaurant is known for its fine dining approach to traditional fare and has numerous awards under its belt.

Last year, it was nominated in the Best Restaurant in Bristol category of the British Restaurant Awards.

In an Instagram post, The Mint Room wrote: “It has been an immense joy and pleasure to have served you over the years and we are incredibly grateful for all the support and generosity you have shown us.

“However, we hope it is not a complete farewell as we hope to see you at our Bath site where much is in the early planning stages for new beginnings and for warm and welcoming food and service.”

Reacting to the closure in the comments, one account said: “Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten has been in the Mint Room in Clifton. Outstanding.”

While another added: “Well done on 10 successful years. Sorry to read this. See you soon in Bath.”
