Posting on social media, The Bristolian team said: “After a mercifully small (thanks to local people’s prompt action) fire, we are cleaning and repainting. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

The Bristolian has long been one of the city’s best loved cafes, especially when it comes to cooked breakfasts and vegetarian options. According to the owners, it will remain closed for repair work to take place and they hope to reopen ‘in a week or two’.
