One of the many ‘money saving’ ideas outlined by Bristol City Council in its 2022/23 Budget was to start charging for adult admission at the museums, which it operates along with Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and the M Shed.
This would save the authority around £21,000 as it works to plug a financial gap of £19.5million.
A spokesperson for the Council said: “At this moment in time potential charges are still being discussed but have not so far progressed any further.”

Blaise Museum, situated a bit futher out in Henbury, is set in a 19th Century mansion and offers a glimpse into Bristol’s Victorian Era.
